Sooooo… taught myself php. Not the whole thing, you know, but most everything needed to make a theme from scratch. The idea was to steal great working ideas that I think are important, maintain integrity as much as possible, and make something I could live with for at least a while.
If I can finish, then I can start working on something even better, the next progression in both style and functionality but for now in it’s infancy have deemed it Shameless, on account of all the stealing and what not. It’s coming along OK, as best as could hope for being into theme making for all of 2 days. It will be appearing here soon, and although it is technically viewer ready now, it’s lacking small things that are driving me crazy meanwhile things like my AdSense bar and plug-in stuff goes uncoded.
!Viva Customization! One thing I want is site-wide light-box photo viewing, IF it can be done in a respectable size and resources manner. I also want a plug-in, or maybe better yet server side script that rotates a head image stock with each page load??? Nah, that would probably bring the server to it’s knees, how about every hour, or 30 minutes…
Beyond that… and photo wise, I have learned from my fatal camera death encounter and I am looking forward to taxes supplying me with any Nikon DSLR camera. I hate the D40 after my D70, but you make do and at least it is Nikon.
Winter months take a huge chunk out of train photos or murals, or anything. Bad lighting, too cold, malfunctioning equipment, it goes on and on. Trying to find some scrap carpet for cheap. Not sixty cents a sq foot that ends up costing $60 cheap, I mean like the real definition of cheap, like “Free if you just make it go away, Cheap.” Then if I can get the backroom done… if that happens, I can start screen-printing my own shirts again. I fashionably never steal existing logos or sayings either, at least not knowingly, or that company is also too… indie.
Not only that, but I can start making the messenger bag I custom designed for graffiti projects. I tell you, I got so sick of cans rattling around, no where to put even 2 beers, all this riding perilously on top of my blackbook which started to fall apart after just 3 weeks in that bag. This thing has under flap front space mounted pockets for phones, drawing supplies, markers, and marked pockets for caps. Inside is a system along the walls of elastic tight enough to fit cans comfortably while still removable and yet able to also hold a can or bottle. With a midsection for paper supplies. All the while waxed and sprayed for waterproofing and custom stenciled by yours truly.
Stickers too… oh so many sticker designs to be sadly wasted on this art and culture wasteland.
We’re nearing completion of the site… oooooo… smell the progress.
